Operating a state-of-the-art-export-certified facility that processes about one million lambs each year, contracting with the likes of Coles and McDonald’s. Overview
To meet Gundagai Meat Processors’ requirements for enhanced and expanded production capacity, including new slaughter, chiller, and boning operations, Roxset collaborated closely with the client to design and delivery specialised production flooring solutions tailored to each area’s unique needs.

Challenges
Key flooring challenges GMP faced for the project included:
- Required flooring that withstands seven-day-a-week operations (due to minimal weekend shutdowns) with a high level of daily traffic, heavy equipment thermal shock, and chemical exposure.
- Strict export and food safety standards require seamless, non-porous surface handling of large volumes of liquids at all stages of production.
- Tight project timelines to minimise operational downtime.

Implementation
Working closely with GMP’s engineering and maintenance management, Roxset has executed the installation in tightly controlled stages to maintain continuity of operations, including:
- Flooring: 1800 SQM of Roxset SE4 @ 6mm to all ‘high risk slip zones’
- Coving: @ 250mm (high) to all floor/wall intersections.
- Additional Works: to hobs, plinth, expansion joints and platforms in operational areas.
Rigorous safety standards were followed throughout, and each section underwent detailed quality checks to ensure compliance with GMP’s operational and regulatory requirements, Roxset flooring systems passed all compliance audits, including HACCP, AQIS and export certifications.
Outcomes
The upgraded flooring significantly improved underfoot safety for team members, reduced maintenance downtime, and delivered a durable, hygienic surface built to support GMP’s growth.
